Internship Opportunities

Do have skills you believe could help us in our mission to save lives?
You can be a MedicZero Hero!

Finance Intern

In order to conduct community training events, operate multiple chapters, and carry out our mission as a whole, keeping MedicZero in optimal financial health is paramount. As a finance intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of financial operations within our organization. Under the guidance of management, you will assist in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, nonprofit fundraising initiatives, sales and merchandising efforts, and supporting day-to-day financial activities. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to individuals interested in pursuing a career in finance, startups, nonprofits, or healthcare to develop essential skills and knowledge in a real-world setting.

Community Relations Intern

To foster the growth of our organization, we place a strong emphasis on forging partnerships within our community. We strive to identify and collaborate with organizations that share a similar vision for pre-hospital care and community education. Currently, we manage three types of community partners: university chapters, affiliate training organizations, and university ambassadors. As the Community Relations intern, you will help oversee the creation of new chapters and maintain communication with existing ones to ensure smooth operations. You will also design and implement programs to engage and support our chapters’ leaders. Finally, you will work with our team to engage with and conduct outreach to potential industry partners.

PR/Marketing Intern

Marketing is key for MedicZero’s growth and success. Through marketing our mission, our work, and our team, we hope to create an increased presence in the larger community. This ultimately draws in new members, chapters, and partnerships. As a PR / marketing intern, you will be responsible for brainstorming and implementing marketing strategies, including social media presence, a monthly newsletter, and our website. One of our organization’s goals is to promote the usage of evidence-based emergency medicine practices by encouraging continuous dialogue among the community. This dialogue arises from successful marketing, which spreads awareness and information in various outlets!

Medical Grant-Writing Intern

A prominent part of MedicZero’s fundraising efforts, revenue sources, and credibility are centered upon both broad and industry-specific grants. The medical grant-writing intern will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts by assisting in the development and submission of grant proposals. Under the guidance of management, you will gain hands-on experience in researching funding opportunities, crafting compelling proposals, and building relationships with donors and funding agencies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference while honing your grant writing skills in a nonprofit setting.

Community Training Intern

Community training is central to the mission of MedicZero. Throughout the year, we hold numerous training events at libraries, high schools, parks, workplaces, fairs, and more. At these events, we teach a range of topics and skills such as Hands-Only CPR, stroke recognition, bleeding control, and Naloxone usage. As a community training intern, you will help to establish and coordinate these trainings, launch new community training campaigns, expand upon our curricula, create new ways to teach, and keep our members engaged and involved with community training. You will work with our executive team and your fellow interns to ensure that we can continue to serve and engage with our community, mobilizing a team of bystanders to act when an emergency occurs.

High-School Curriculum Project Lead

Several states, including New Jersey, have laws requiring high-school students to be trained in CPR and first-aid. However, the quality of this training is not regulated. This results in many students receiving ineffective training, that doesn’t provide the necessary confidence to perform these skills. As an HSC project lead, you will be helping to expand an evidence-based CPR/first-aid curriculum used to teach high-school students. You will work to refine our newly developed course and build out supplemental materials. You will work within a broad team to reach out to highschools to gauge interest in beginning the program, and you will continually collect data to optimize its effectiveness and maximize student learning.

Research Intern

As an organization committed to delivering evidence-based, bystander emergency medical education, research is essential to enhancing the quality and clinical accuracy of our training programs. Our goal is to make meaningful contributions to the EMS landscape by reviewing current training practices and conducting novel studies that inform and improve bystander emergency response. As a research intern, you will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, project ideation and implementation, presenting findings, refining insights, and effectively communicating with professionals!
